Program Description

Event Details

In this 2-part STEM workshop, students will use an animation software program called Live2D Cubism, and will learn how to create and use “modeling” to add a range of motion and “animation” to make the model act within the range.

During Part 1, students will learn about the layout and physics of the animated chibi model.  A chibi character is a simplified anime art style featuring characters with minimal detail.

During Part 2, students will begin to animate their own customizable avatar that they can later import into Vtube studio, which allows them to use lip syncing, and synthesized facial motion.  Live2D Cubism Editor can be used to perform the animations. Students will learn how to animate various parts of the character's body including their facial expressions and body movements.

*Students will be signed up for both classes.  They will need to bring their own laptops, and will need to download the free version of Live 2D Editor prior to class.
