Program Description

Event Details

This spring, the Metropolitan Museum will be showing an important exhibit of the works of Winslow Homer; known for his powerful paintings of American life and scenery. Particularly featured will be his representations of charged subjects of war, race, politics, and the environment. Featuring approximately 90 oils and watercolors, this exhibit is the largest critical overview of Homer’s art and life in more than a quarter of a century. Artist and Art Educator Sue Altman will be discussing his life, his works during and after the Civil War, and his legacy. This program is both in person in the library and live streaming via Zoom.  Registration is necessary on mahwahlibrary.org events calendar (Don’t forget to give us your email address).  Registration will close 24 hours before  the event.  We will send everyone the Zoom meeting number, password, and URL meeting link at that time.  You can join us in person or on Zoom.
