Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, was United States Minister to France, and the first Secretary of State under President George Washington. Elected the third President of the United States after a bitterly-fought campaign he organized the Louisiana Purchase and commissioned Lewis and Clark to explore the western territories. Join Tom DeStefano, teacher of History at Bergen Community College, as he explores this complex founding father. This program is both in person in the library and live streaming via Zoom. Registration is necessary on mahwahlibrary.org events calendar (Don't forget to give us your email address). Registration will close 24 hours before the event. We will send everyone the Zoom meeting number, password, and URL meeting link at that time. You can join us in person or on Zoom.
