Event Details

Dr. Isabela Morales, award-winning author of Happy Dreams of Liberty and historian of slavery, to speak about the history of slavery in New Jersey.

Dr. Morales received her Ph.D. in history from Princeton University in 2019. She is the Editor of The Princeton & Slavery Project at Princeton University and the Education and Exhibit Manager at the Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum (SSAAM), Central New Jersey's first dedicated Black history museum.

This program is co-presented by the Mahwah Historic Preservation Commission and the Mahwah Museum.
