Celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month with Louis Armstrong-- The Ambassador of Jazz.  Louis Armstrong is one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time and has influenced more jazz trumpeters and musicians than any other artist.  Trumpeter Gordon James presents a program filled with interesting and humorous stories and featuring many of the great songs for which Louis Armstrong was famous.  The program covers his childhood growing up in New Orleans, his early years performing with his Hot Five and Hot Seven combos, his many recordings with Ella Fitzgerald, his appearances in major motion pictures and finally his becoming an international ambassador to jazz.  Gordon James and his pianist will perform some of his songs like Twelfth Street Rag, Bill Bailey, Ain't Misbehaving, On the Sunny Side of the Street, When the Saint's Go Marching In,  What a Wonderful World, and many more.
