Event Details
The Harlem Renaissance marked the beginning of an explosion in creativity that transformed African American identity and history, as well as American culture as a whole. Never before had so many people of all backgrounds read the thoughts of African Americans and embraced the black community’s productions, expressions, and style in art, literature, music, dance, and theater. This talk will introduce you to many of the inspired artists who produced astonishing and ground-breaking works and will prepare you well to enjoy the Metropolitan Museum of Art's exhibition The Harlem Renaissance and Transatlantic Modernism on view until July 28th.
This program is both in person in the library and live streaming via Zoom. Registration is necessary on mahwahlibrary.org events calendar to receive the Zoom Link (Don't forget to give us your email address).
