James Madison may not have signed the Declaration of Independence, but his contributions were highly significant. The ardent support for independence during his college years at Princeton carried him through the American Revolution and beyond. His political duties with positions in Virginia's colonial government and its revolutionary extension-the Virginia House of Delegates gave rise to the country's formation as our "Father of the Constitution," "Architect of the Bill of Rights," and two term president.
