Introducing our new Parent Cafe series, presented by the Bergen County Division of Child Care Resources! Parent Cafes are safe spaces for families to share experiences, learn, and build a community. Parents and caregivers form connections with peers, mentors, and other community members in their social networks. These social networks are supportive and educational, honor and are inclusive of families’ home language and culture, and enhance families’ social wellbeing and community life.
Each Parent Cafe will feature a different topic related to child development, offering caregivers a chance to connect, share, and grow in a supportive environment while their children enjoy hands-on activities nearby.
This month's Parent Cafe session, Homegrown Learning: Simple Ways to Support Your Child’s Learning, will focus on everyday strategies that help parents create a nurturing and engaging home environment. Key points will include building routines that support focus and independence, using play and daily tasks to reinforce learning, and supporting emotional, language, and motor development through simple home practices.
