Program Description

Event Details

Join Professor Diane Cypkin for a road trip on the Interstate of time back to the fabulous fifties.  For many it was an era of hope and security.  Ike was President, cars were big, gas was cheap and families were moving to newly created suburbs like Levittown where they watched the exploits of Lucy, Lassie, Danny and Donna on their black and white TVs.  And two of the leading ladies on the radio were Patti Page and Doris Day.  During your journey, Dr. Cypkin will not only sing the hits of these iconic artists such as "Tennessee Waltz", "Mockingbird Hill", "Secret Love", and of course "Que Sera Sera" to name a few, but will also share their personal stories to bring their music and their era to life.

Registration is required on the library website, priority given to Mahwah residents with a Mahwah Library card. Mahwah residents may register starting 4 weeks prior to the event; non-Mahwah residents may register starting 2 weeks prior to the event.
