Program Description
Event Details
Take on an exciting STEM challenge and use straws, cardboard, and masking tape to create a platform sturdy enough to hold a pumpkin! Straws are thin and hollow–but with the right engineering can hold a surprising amount of weight! Using limited materials and resources that encourage creativity, kids will work to design a platform that can withstand the weight of a real pumpkin! Participants will be able to take home their expertly engineered creations at the end of the program.
Note: Pumpkins will not be provided to each participant. Two real pumpkins will be used in the challenge, but they will not be given away to take home.
