Event Details

Weird NJ is a semi-annual magazine that chronicles local legends, purported hauntings, ghost stories, folklore, unusual places or events, and other peculiarities in New Jersey. The Mahwah Library is proud to host Weird NJ publishers Mark Sceurman and Mark Moran as they present a special live edition, focusing on the weird and curious happenings in and around Bergen County! Just in time for the spooky season, why not learn about the kooky reason(s) that Bergen County is so weird.

This event is in-person only.

An Introduction to Weird NJ

Weird NJ: Your Travel Guide to New Jersey’s Local Legends and Best-Kept Secrets is a magazine that takes the reader to places you won’t find on any tourist maps. Weird NJ publishers Mark Sceurman and Mark Moran travel the backroads of the Garden State in search of unwritten history and modern folklore. They seek out places that many would consider to be strange, odd or unique, then compile stories of what they’ve found in their magazine, which they publish twice a year.
