Do you like to explore different types of beer? Humans have been making beer for thousands of years. In recent times, people have taken up home brewing as a hobby both for personal consumption and for competitions. Award-winning Hudson Valley brewer David Woods will bring ingredients needed to get started, and will talk you through a brew session. He will start with a beginners course, offering tips on how to make the homebrew better, and he will end with a Q & A session.

David Woods started brewing back in 1999 from a Mr. Beer kit that he received for Christmas. Within a year he had moved to regular ingredients, and within two years had moved up to 5 gallon brewing with specialty grains. The next progression was to all grain brewing along with mead and hard cider experimentation. By 2005, Woods started entering homebrew competitions and won 2nd place in Brooklyn Brewery's Belgian Ale category. He now brews and kegs 10 gallon batches on a system that rolls out of his garage, and has a 4 tap beer system sticking out of the door of the refrigerator in his basement.  Join us as we put the "pub" back in the public library!  This program is In-Person only!
