The English language is spoken by approximately 1.5 billion people! As one of the most commonly spoken languages in the world, the ability to communicate in English is an important skillset to have when navigating work, business, school, and everyday life.

In partnership with the Mahwah Public Schools, the Library is offering an English Language Learners (ELL) program for adults at beginner and intermediate levels. No matter your native language or cultural background, we welcome you to join us if you’re interested in improving your English.

This eight-week program will be held on Mondays, starting April and continuing on the 28th, May 5th, 12th, 19th, and June 2nd, 9th and 16th. Please note there will be no class on May 26th, we are closed for Memorial Day Weekend.

Beginner sessions start at 10am, and intermediate sessions start at 11am.  In addition to language practice, topics such as civic engagement, preparing for work, resources available to residents, and more will be covered!

Registration is encouraged, but drop-ins are also welcome provided space is available.
