Event Details

Marty Schneit details how Jewish America started in New York.  Marty will talk about the Brownsville Girls, Shearith Israel, Temple Emanuel, Jews of Brighton Beach, Eldridge Street Synagogue, Rebbe Schneerson,  Washington Heights (Frankfurt on the Hudson), Zabars, the egg cream and Henny Youngman.  Marty will explain how the New York Jews pioneered the rise of the garment industry which had a great impact on the world of fashion.  This program is both in person in the library and live streaming via Zoom.  Register is necessary on mahwahlibrary.org events calendar to receive the Zoom Link (Don't forget to give us your email address).
