Program Description

Event Details

Come learn how to turn your nature walks and photography into a walking meditation to improve your health. You will also learn how to adjust key settings on your smartphone camera to take better pictures and make your nature walks with them seamless.

Steffen Kaplan is a former award-winning New York Times Photo Editor turned Social Media and Visual Consultant/Strategist whose clients include Emory University's Center for the Study of Human Health, The Pulitzer Prizes, AARP and more. He lives in Ramsey, NJ and uses his smartphone camera to capture the beauty of nature preserves and state parks in Northern NJ and NY State. Steffen discovered a true passion for nature photography when the pandemic hit and soon realized his nature walks were a form of walking meditation, easing anxiety and some depression, and helping with the daily stress of life.  A true believer in exploring everywhere he goes, Steffen loves to just create. When it comes to being out and about in nature, Steffen is not always looking for the typical nature photographs, but looking more towards the experience of being one with the environment -- and in the moment.
