Event Details
Through centuries of art, much of it now in East Coast museums, we'll explore how a Greek bishop in Roman-era Turkey evolved into one of Christianity’s most beloved saints. Then in American artwork we'll see Nicholas change again—into Santa Claus. Norris holds a bachelor's of arts degree in the classics from the University of California at San Diego, and a master's of arts degree in the classics and a doctoral degree in art history from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He spent 20 years at the Cloisters Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and has lectured all over the world. This program is both in person in the library and live streaming via Zoom. Register is necessary on mahwahlibrary.org events calendar to receive the Zoom Link (Don't forget to give us your email address).
