Event Details
From radio to Hollywood, Peggy Lee wrote her first song at 17, and by 1943, she was already one of the pioneering female singer-songwriters. Join us as we celebrate the songbird and songwriter, Ms. Peggy Lee. Similarly, following her radio performances of "Day After Day," Doris Mary Kappelhoff became known as Doris Day. By the 1940s, she had achieved two number-one hits, leading to over 650 recordings in her lifetime. As one of the greatest Hollywood film stars of the 1950s and 1960s, Day’s expert vocal phrasing, song choices, and love for swing made her a legend. We rejoice in Doris Day’s timeless contributions in this heartfelt tribute.
